Rigved Sathe and Payal Jagwani, two graphic design students from Pune, India, will be your companions on a beautiful journey across the world… and all over the alphabet. Inspired by their love of travel, they created “Around the World with Type”, a typographic experiment which pairs every letter of the alphabet with a place on the map with the same initial. A letter can stand for either a city (yes, you guessed it, of course P is for Paris) or any kind of visual landmark to complement the letterform.
“We intend to take you on a journey into the exciting world of graphic design, enchanted by some of the most beautiful destinations. Our thirst for travel had us going crazy with colors, images, letterforms and exploring the depths of experimental type. We present to you ‘Around the world with type’ , a shout out to all the beautiful places and people out there!”
Indeed, the project is beautiful to look at, and if you spell out your name with the letters, you might end up adding new places to visit in your lifetime to an already never ending list. Well, at least that’s what we did 🙂
