Body Painter Skillfully Turns Humans Into Animals

Posted on

American artist Shannon Holt creates incredibly realistic body art that looks like wild animals, in a series called “Florida Wildlife”.

She spends between six to twelve hours to complete each artwork, time during which the models must adopt the right stance – and that’s not always comfortable -, while the artist paints every little detail, making her work appear as if it was alive.

Holt, who earned her BFA from Tyler School of Art Philadelphia/Rome in 1998, had the idea to work on skin rather than canvas while experimenting with different surfaces in 2008, and became a professional body painter in 2009.
