Ari Fararooy is a freelance video director, photographer, editor, and vfx artist from California, who put together this beautifully animated sequence of photos from the 2015 Burning Man.
If you’ve never had the chance to attend the Burning Man, you should know it is an annual gathering that takes place in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada. Every year, tens of thousands of people gather in the desert and Black Rock City re-emerges – a temporary metropolis dedicated to art, self-expression, and self-reliance. The event is basically an experiment in community and art, and long story short – it’s awesome; dusty too, but mainly awesome 🙂
The surreal video entitled Burning Moments is created from digitally animated photos taken by Ari at Burning Man 2015 and 2014. “This past year was my second Burning Man in a row, and once again my mind was blown. For my video project, I decided to use all of my 2015 photos, as well as some of my 2014 photos, and bring them to life through the experimental technique of digital animation. My photographs illustrate my surreal experiences at the festival, often using my imagination to alter reality.”
