Timothy Doyle is an illustrator working out of Austin, Texas. Growing up in the suburban Dallas area, he found inspiration in comic-books, television and video games -and it worked out great for him, as his live-action graphic novel The Intergalactic Nemesis has been touring the world since 2011 and it was even featured on the Conan O’Brien show.
Tim Doyle’s fascination with television and comics shines through in his SpokeArt gallery shows, named UnReal Estate. The “Springfield After Dark” illustration series features a fresh take on the famous fictional town in which the American animated sitcom The Simpsons is set. A mid-sized town in an undetermined state of the United States, Springfield is meant to represent “anytown, USA”. In this collection of illustrations, we get to see a mysterious, night-lit Springfield beneath an endless starry sky. The artist revisits iconic landmarks like the Krusty Burger, the Kwik E-mart or the First Church of Springfield, and they are all deliciously spooky.
Oh, and UnReal Estate: The Book (that’s 144 pages of illustration, sketches and behind the scenes) is coming out soon, so stay tuned.
