Artist Uses Wine To Create Amazing Paintings That Age Over Time

Posted on

Sanja Jankovic is a freelance artist and art teacher from Novi Sad, Serbia, who paints in the Vinorel/Winerelle style.

Winerelle is a painting made entirely of quality wine: Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc for white and Merlot, Pinot Noir and Cabrenet Sauvignon for black, because the finer the wine, the richer the color. According to the artist, “only the finest sorts of wine were used in the creation of each painting”.

Another particularity of the Winerelle style is that it requires a steady hand and patience, because mistakes can’t be corrected.

Furthermore, the paintings mature, just like wine, and the color is slightly changing over time, while retaining its wonderful contrast.
